How Task Locations Works
📍 Adding a location
Tap ＋ Add, type the address, pick a category, and add any notes. It shows up for the whole crew right away.
✏️ Editing & status
Tap any card to open it — edit details, add notes, or snap a photo. Tap the round status dot to set where the job's at: Urgent, Needs Work, Not Complete, or Need Confirmation. Mark it Complete and it slides into the Completed folder up top, so your active list stays clean.
🗺️ Get directions
Each card has two map icons on the right — tap one to open that address in Google Maps or Apple Maps for turn-by-turn directions.
📝 Notes
Tap Notes to leave a note the whole crew can see — shift updates, heads-ups, anything. A dot on the button means there's something new you haven't read.
📂 Categories & sorting
Make colour-coded Categories to group jobs. Use the filter bar to show just one category, or sort by Recent, Number, Category, or Status.
📊 Master Tracker
The Master Tracker follows the civil build — Hand Holes, Duct, Drops, Fiber and more. It now runs multiple projects (switch them in the tab strip up top), filters by phase, and lets coordinators build their own custom categories and columns. Admins and coordinators can add or remove projects, phases and categories right inside the tracker.
🔄 Works offline & syncs
Everything saves to your phone first, so it keeps working on weak signal. When you're back online it syncs automatically — and refreshes the moment you reopen the app or signal returns.
📲 Install on your phone
Tap ⬇ Install App to add Task Locations to your home screen so it opens like a normal app. On iPhone: tap Share in Safari, then Add to Home Screen.
🔐 Admin & coordinators
The Admin and assigned Coordinators share full control: delete locations, manage categories, run the Master Tracker, and use the Consents lookup. Coordinators are added in the Admin panel by username.

Coordinators get full control alongside the admin — they can delete locations, manage categories, see Consents, and run the Master Tracker. Assigned by the admin only.

Auto-pin looks up house numbers via Google (rooftop) with NRCan + OpenStreetMap as keyless fallbacks — no API key to manage. "Forget approximate flags" doesn't move any pins — it just stops marking street-level pins as approximate, and Auto-pin will no longer retry them.

“Clear ALL locations”, “Clear ALL consents” and “Clear Master Tracker data” apply to the current project only.
The reset restores the Castor project's four built-in categories (Hand Holes, Duct, Drops, Fiber) to the Sep 8 2025 snapshot. It does not touch Task Locations data, other projects, or custom categories. Projects, phases and categories are managed inside the Master Tracker itself.

Manage categories
Rename, recolor, add or remove the categories used across all locations. Renaming or recoloring updates every location that uses the category. A category that's in use can't be deleted.

Manage projects
Add a project for another town and set its map centre + search region. Switch projects from the tab strip on the home screen (admin & coordinators only). Castor is the built-in default and can't be edited or removed. Each project keeps its own locations, consents, plans, locates, categories and Master Tracker — switching the tab switches all of them.

Pipeline order
The order a job moves through when you tap ➡ Advance stage on a location. Each stage is matched to the category with the same name, so Advance auto-moves the row to the next stage's category. Reorder with the arrows, remove a stage, or add one from your categories below. A stage with no matching category (✓ vs ⚠ below) still logs and resets the job — Advance just hands off to a manual category pick there. Saved for the whole crew, per project.
🚦 STATUSES
Rename & recolor statuses
Change the label and color of the five job statuses. Updates everywhere — cards, menus, search — for the whole crew. The five statuses themselves can't be added or removed (they drive the Completed folder and sorting).

Records show as cards — every filled-in field is visible at once, no sideways scrolling. Filter with the chips at the top of each tab, then + Add Location to log new assets, or use the pencil/trash icons on any card to edit or remove it. Changes are saved on this device automatically; Export Excel any time to share or back up.
Everything is keyed by WL node. Hand holes are single nodes (69); ducts, drops and cables connect two. Click any node to pull every related record across all datasets into one panel.
